Nancy L. Schenning


   Nancy L. Schenning, 76, of Theresa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at Edenbrook of Fond du Lac.   Nancy was born the daughter of Walter and Amelia (Thurow) Hainstock on March 22, 1948, in Madison.   She was united in marriage to Ken Schenning on May 30, 1970, in Madison.   Nancy graduated with a degree in education and taught elementary school in the Lomira School District for over 30 years.   She continued being active in teaching after retirement and tutored students. Over the years she volunteered her time in the community of Theresa and was an EMT for over 20 years.   Nancy was a member of St. Paul in Mayville.   In her spare time, she was fond of crafting, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She enjoyed fishing and delighted in catching fish bigger than Ken’s, as well as cheering on Wisconsin sports teams. Nancy enjoyed reading, gardening, and observing nature. She loved spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren.    Nancy is survived by her husband, Ken of Theresa; her children, Alyssa (Mike) Bresnyan of Neenah, Heather Schenning of Charlotte, NC, and Brett (Ginia) Schenning of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Nicole and Dylan Bresnyan and Greta Schenning; further survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul Hainstock.   A memorial service for Nancy will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with Pastor Tracy Maass officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 p.m. at church.    Robert P. Tischendorf, 86, of Campbellsport went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at Kathy Hospice, West Bend.   He was born in Campbellsport on August 21, 1938, the son of Alfred and Cyrilla (nee Schaeffer) Tischendorf.   Bob was a 1955 graduate of Campbellsport High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1955 to 1958 and the Marine Corp Reserves until 1961.   On July 28, 1962 Bob was united in marriage to Mildred A. Smith at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.   Bob worked at Kemps, Stella Cheese, and the U.S. Post Office but the job he loved best was driving taxi in West Bend.   Bob loved to Polka and enjoyed reading and walking. He was a lifelong member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport   Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Millie; children, Daniel (Elena) Tischendorf of Tempe, AZ, Andrew (Jill) Tischendorf of Campbellsport, Michael (Sue) Tischendorf of Carver, MN, and Julieann (Michael) Morin of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Jana (Chase) Randall of Goodyear, AZ, Samantha (Justin) Keyes, Rebecca (Cody) Delbridge, and Jessica Morin all of Chesapeake, VA, and Ellen Tischendorf and Laura (Trevor) Nocchi, all of Tempe, AZ; great-grandchildren, Brody Randall, Brin Randall, Peyton Keyes, Preslee Keyes, Triston Nocchi, Oliver Delbridge, Audrey Delbridge, and another due in January; sister, Lois Reese of Campbellsport; brother, Alfred (Penny) Tischendorf, Jr. of Ossineke, MI; sister-in-law, Betty Ciszewski; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.   Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Darel and Joanne Tischendorf; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Wilmer Brandt; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Reese and Bill Ciszewski.   Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport.   A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph “Joe” William Koch

Joseph “Joe” William Koch


   Joseph “Joe” William Koch passed from this world on October 24, 2024, to hold hands with his wife, Ella, in Heaven.    Joe was born to Paul and Marie Koch on June 29, 1931, in the house he lived in his entire 93 years on Earth. His childhood was filled with working the farm, fishing the creek, and making minor-mischief with friends on the walk to and from St. Martin's Parish School. His teen years found him driving back roads to go to small town polka dance halls on Saturday nights, after working on the farm all week.   In 1955, he met the love of his life, Ella Metzler. They married on April 14, 1956, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. This began a lifelong partnership of working side-by-side, raising a family of eight children with love and lessons of both work and play. Joe was proud to take over and grow the fourth generation 277-acre family farm, living in the home his great-grandfather, Nicholas Stoffel, built in 1888.    He was particularly proud of his service to the community as the Ashford Town Chairman (45+ years), a Fond du Lac County Board member (25+ years) and serving on the St. Martin's Church board. Joe was an extremely social man and could be found bowling every Tuesday night for over 60 years at King Pin Lanes in Campbellsport, or getting together with his buddies to play poker or sheepshead. He loved a good party and could often be found in the center of the action, telling stories and buying a round of aber-güts. He remained a child at heart, relishing time spent with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the monthly Cousin’s Day. Joe's ability to remember people and places, especially in Ashford and the surrounding communities, was astounding.   In later years, he didn't miss watching Bonanza, Gunsmoke and Polka, Polka, Polka. A game of Yahztee was always at the ready. Joe wanted to be remembered for making wine. He enjoyed delivering elderberry, rhubarb, apple, cranberry and Niagara grape wine to friends, family, his doctors and nurses, fellow farmers--anyone who showed him kindness. He remained socially active and mentally sharp until the very end.   Joseph will be missed by his eight children, Mary (Dennis) Theisen, Louise Seroogy, Joanne (Ken) Blatz, Jean (Bob) Flood, Karen (Dave) Simon, Donna (Randy) Stageman, Laura (Jim) Pierret, and Joseph (Paige) Koch; his 23 grandchildren, Jenny (Kevin) Hein, Jackie (Matt) Oelke, Ann (Kevin) Brennenstuhl, Susan (Mike) Hardtke, John Seroogy, Sarah (Gerardo) Gonzalez, Renee (Paul) Pionke, Becky (Derrick Wielepski) Blatz, Kevin (Amanda) Blatz, Ted (Kaitlyn) Blatz, Greg (Nikki) Blatz, Megan Flood, Mary Ella Flood, Paul (Katie Lotz) Flood, Dan (Stephanie) Simon, Jeff (Kayla) Simon, Eric (Tabby) Simon, Emily (fiance Josh Lamack) Simon, Will (Samantha) Stageman, Brett (Eva Franz) Stageman, Andrea (Eric Brown) Stageman, Trevor (Bella Newman) Stageman, and Devon Pierret; his 32 great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Gianna, Zachary, Luke, and Bethany Hein, Caitlin, McKenzie, Canton, Chase and Clay Oelke, Gavin, Quinn and Tristen Brennenstuhl, Tyson and Griffin Hardtke, Savannah and Natalie Pionke, Harper, Frank and Louie Blatz, Hailey Blatz, Sally and Miles Blatz, Bo and Cole Simon, Trudy, Vince and Elsie Simon, Asher Simon and Cealy, Mo and Callum Stageman; and Baby Simon and Baby Stageman on the way. He is also survived by beloved siblings, Rita Babler, Paul (Sherry) Koch, and Mike (Shirley) Koch.   He was preceded in death by Ella, his wife of more than 60 years; his parents, Paul and Marie Koch; in-laws, Joseph and Josephine Metzler; brother-in-law, Jack Babler; and many special aunts and uncles.   A special thank you to the amazing Harbor Haven Sunrise staff, especially Tina, Mathilda, Kristy and Alice during his last days. You made our Dad feel loved. To all those who visited Joe in his final weeks of life, including county and town board members, Thank You! It meant everything to him that you took the time to visit.    Louis Clarence Adelmeyer, (Okie), 100, of Mayville passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville.   Louis was born on October 21, 1924, to Louis Sr. and Laura (Sterr) Adelmeyer in the Town of Lomira. He was one of 15 brothers and sisters. He attended school in Theresa.   Louis was united in marriage to Marcella (Sally) Ensenbach on September 11, 1948, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Theresa.   Louis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mayville.   Louis was always a very dedicated worker in whatever he did. At a young age, he helped out on the family farm in rural Theresa. He was very mechanically inclined and went into the auto mechanic trade working at garages in Theresa and Mayville. He then moved on to work at Maysteel Corporation for 32 years, operating punch and CNC turret presses. After retirement, he drove school bus for the Mayville School District which he truly enjoyed.   Louis loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He was always available to help them with their needs. He enjoyed playing ball and riding bikes with them. He also was seen driving the streets of Mayville with his bicycle well into his 90's.   Louis is survived by his wife of 76 years, Marcella (Sally); his daughter, Jean (Joel) Lepple of Beaver Dam; his son, Dennis (Connie) Adelmeyer of Mayville; six grandchildren, Douglas (Jessica) Adelmeyer of Horicon, Brent (Denise) Lepple of Beaver Dam, Chad (Faith) Adelmeyer of Fond du Lac, Craig (Delight) Lepple of Beaver Dam, Christine (Russ) Lindner of Fall River, and Ashley (Adam) Hansen of Cary, IL. He also has 12 great-grandchildren, Hope, Kaleb, Carter and Avery Adelmeyer, Ethan, Mackinsey, Caden and Coye Lepple, Hailey and Brinley Lindner, and Adeline and Aiden Hansen; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   Louis was preceded in death by his parents; mother- and father-in-law, Oscar and Selma Ensenbach; brothers and sisters, Alphonse (Florence) Adelmeyer, Agnes (Roman) Roggenbauer, Armond (Monica) Adelmeyer, Leander (Meta) Adelmeyer, Marion (Ervin) Wuenne, Anthony (Eleanor) Adelmeyer, Alois (Helen) Adelmeyer, Lucille (Eric) Seiler, Rose (Adelbert) Marion, Elroy Adelmeyer, Pearl (John) Gonzales, Roger (Edith) Adelmeyer, Russel (Mary Jane) Adelmeyer, and Robert (Margie) Adelmeyer; nieces, nephews and other relatives.   A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Ed Kornath presiding. A visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. at church. Douglas “Doug” W. Franzen

Douglas “Doug” W. Franzen


   Douglas “Doug” W. Franzen, 71, of Kewaskum, passed away on October 21, 2024, at his home with his family at his side, after a lengthy courageous battle with kidney cancer.   Doug was born on December 11, 1952, in Port Washington, the son of the late Edward and Leona (nee Bruss) Franzen. He was a 1971 graduate of Kewaskum High School.   On October 12, 1974, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dawn Keller, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Doug and Dawn recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends.   Doug was employed at Weasler Engineering as a machinist for over 27 years.   Doug was an avid outdoorsman. He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trips to the cabin. He fished many tournaments with his close friends, Dan Survis and Mike Frank, over the years. He enjoyed taking car rides through the countryside, country western movies, listening to oldies music, and watching wildlife.   Most of all, he cherished the moments spent with his loving wife, Dawn, their children, and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His family was his greatest joy, and he found immense happiness in creating lasting memories with them.   Those Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Dawn; two children, Lisa (Jon) Walczak and Doug (Tiffany) Franzen; two grandchildren, Alexsa Walczak and Caleb Franzen; his siblings, Roxy (Joe) Sterr, Judy Survis, and Darlene (Ronald) Aupperle; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Frank) Fellenz and Pauline Franzen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Doug also leaves behind his lifelong close friend, Mike Frank.   Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Leona Franzen; parents-in-law, Ray and Amatta Keller; granddaughter, Mikaela Walczak; his siblings, Audrey (Roy) Johnson, Donald (Anita) Franzen, Henry Franzen, Edward Franzen (Pat), Priscilla (Robert) Friedemann, Marcella (Vernon) Fierke, Bernadine (David) VanAntwerp, an infant sister; and brother-in-law, Daniel Survis.   VISITATION: Doug’s family greeted relatives and friends at Ledgeview Memorial Park, N6250 County Road K, in Fond du lac, in the chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.   SERVICE: A service for Doug took place at 11 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Ruth E. Schultz

Ruth E. Schultz


   Ruth E Schultz, 93, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau.    Ruth was born on December 8, 1930, the daughter of Elsmer and Anna (Miller) Sperling in the Town of Herman.   On July 29, 1950, she was united in marriage with Rayno R. Schultz at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.    Ruth was a graduate of Dodge Co. Teachers College and had been an Elementary school teacher for 20 years. She loved music and had served as an organist at churches since 1960. Additionally, Ruth was an accompanist and a choir director for many years.   She was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and Wisconsin Lutheran Ministries.   Upon retirement, Ruth and Rayno moved to Pray, where they owned and operated Rayno’s Whistle Stop for 10 years, later lived in Neshkoro and finally moved back to the Beaver Dam area.    Ruth will be deeply missed by her children, Julie (Douglas) Evenson of Fort Atkinson and Joel (Karen) Schultz of Horicon; daughters-in-law, Carla Schultz of Horicon and Cindy Schultz Conkey of Hartford; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rayno, in 2017; sons, Jan Schultz and Jeff Schultz; and her brothers, Harvey Sperling and Wilbur Sperling.   A memorial gathering for Ruth will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A memorial service will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Stratman officiating. Inurnment will take place later at Juneau City Cemetery.   Memorial donations in Ruth’s name may be made to St. Stephen’s Ev.    Car­olyn Weber Leininger, 97, passed away peace­fully after a long ill­ness on Sun­day, Oct. 13, 2024, at As­cen­sion Liv­ing Alex­ian Vil­lage in Mil­wau­kee.   She was born, a twin, on April 18, 1927, in Camp­bell­sport. She was a grad­u­ate from Camp­bell­sport High School in 1945; and also from Beauty Col­lege in Mil­wau­kee.   She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, William Leininger; par­ents Rein­hold and Alice Weber; brother, Allan Weber, broth­ers-in-law, Richard Nirschl and Harold Bi­en­venu; sis­ter-in-law, Therese Schlae­fer Weber.   Those sur­viv­ing her in­clude her son, William Leininger, Jr., and wife, Bar­bara of Med­ford, OR; broth­ers, Bob Weber, her twin, She­boy­gan Falls; Eu­gene Weber, Fond du Lac; Don Weber (Judy), Oshkosh; sis­ters, Eloise Weber Bi­en­venu, West Cov­ina, CA; Mau­reen Weber Nirschl, Long­mont, CO; Mary Alice Weber Met­zler, Modesto, CA; sis­ter-in-law, Noreen Teske Weber, Mil­wau­kee; and many nieces and nephews and friends.   Her fu­neral ser­vice was held in the Chapel at As­cen­sion Liv­ing Alex­ian Vil­lage, Mil­wau­kee on Oc­to­ber 19, 2024.   Church and Chapel Fu­neral Home, Mil­wau­kee, WI were in charge of arrange­ments.

Richard “Dick” Joseph Du Charme

Richard “Dick” Joseph Du Charme


   Richard “Dick” Joseph Du Charme, 77, passed away tragically on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, doing what he loved, working in his garage.   He was born on September 7, 1947, to L.J. “Red” and Margaret (nee Ploederl) Du Charme.   Dick served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a crew chief on a helicopter in the 71st Assault Helicopter Company and was honored with a Purple Heart. He later was a member of the Kettle Moraine Chapter of the VVA.    Dick was an elevator mechanic up until retirement at the age of 55 years old. He worked for the IUEC and loved his career. He had a passion for his homestead and owned many horses in his life. He was a true cowboy and often wore his cowboy party hat. His many hobbies included: reading, guns, shooting sporting clays, riding his UTV John Deere Gator, his vintage cars and attending car shows. If you were fortunate enough to ride in any of his old cars, you’d better have sunglasses on : )   Dick is survived by his son, Jason (Christine) Brownlee; siblings, Peg (Bob) Hoch, Sue (Dave) Flynn, Dave (Jodi); grandchildren, Emma, Meg, Madeline and Lauren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.   Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (nee Lex); his parents, Red and Margaret Du Charme; and sister, Bonnie.    A Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095). A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Deacon Mark Jansen presiding, concluding with Military Honors.    Dorothy L. Ran­dall, 94 (nee Braatz), of Eden, passed away Thurs­day, Oct. 17, 2024 at the Hos­pice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.   She was born on March 8, 1930, in Fond du Lac, the daugh­ter of William and Min­nie (Sielaff) Braatz.   She was a grad­u­ate of Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac.   On July 30, 1949, she mar­ried Gene Ran­dall at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.   She loved spend­ing time with her friends and fam­ily. Some of her hob­bies in­cluded play­ing Sheepshead and Pass the Ace.    Sur­vivors in­clude her sons, Mark (Veron­ica) of Eden, Scott of Glen­beu­lah, and Brad (Jill) of Lamar­tine; grand­chil­dren, Steve (Jess) Ran­dall, Saman­tha (Caleb) Pike, Jo­han­nah (Tony) Trudeau; great-grand­chil­dren, Syd­nee, Jack­son, Mason, Se­bas­t­ian, Olivier; sis­ters-in-law, Gail of Lamar­tine, San­dra (Don­ald) of Fond du Lac, and Mary (Ken­neth) of Fond du Lac.
