Campbellsport Baseball Sweeps Foxes and Beats the Cardinals

On May 18, Campbellsport baseball beat Mayville 4-3 on the road to split the season series after the game was rescheduled two times due to weather conditions.
Campbellsport (12-10, 6-6) broke the scoreless tie in the fourth inning thanks to a two-run RBI single from Sawyer Galligan and a RBI double from Wyatt Loehr to take a 3-0 lead over Mayville (6-11, 3-9).
The Cougars added a run with two outs when Loehr hit a single, which was followed by a Cullen Reis RBI single to increase the Campbellsport lead to 4-0 in the sixth inning.
The Cardinals scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tighten the game, featuring a solo home run from Tanner Schneider to close the gap on the scoreboard 4-3 in favor of the Cougars.

Mayville got the bases loaded with one out in the seventh inning, but Jace Goebel was able to turn a 5-3 double play to secure the 4-3 road win over the Cardinals.
“Jace turned a great double play to seal the victory,” said Head Coach Jim Krug.
Trent Schaldweiler, Sawyer Galligan, and Wyatt Loehr combined for six hits in the victory for the Cougars.
Vs Kewaskum
On May 15, Campbellsport baseball lost 7-1 to Kewaskum at home on senior night for Trent Schladweiler, Nathan Reigle, Jace Goebel, Cullen Reis, Carson Heisdorf, and Zack Zimdahl.
Kewaskum (13-6) scored with two outs in the first inning when Landon Scheel hit a RBI single to take a 1-0 lead over Campbellsport (12-10).
Campbellsport tied the game in the second inning thanks to Carter Gellings scoring for the Cougars.
The Indians scored two runs on a double by Jace Wichtoski, which was followed by an RBI double from Kyle Haim to increase their lead to 4-1 over the Cougars in the fourth inning.
Levi Whitfield was facing two outs for Kewaskum, but Whitfield responded with a two-run double to push the Indians’ lead to 6-1 after four innings.
Kewaskum added another in the sixth inning by an RBI single from Whitfield to make the winning margin of the game 7-1 over Campbellsport.
Vs Omro
On May 14, Campbellsport baseball beat Omro 4-2 at home to sweep the season series against the Foxes.
Campbellsport (12-10, 6-6) had a single by Keegan Bowe in the third inning, followed up by a Cullen Reis RBI single to take a 1-0 lead over Omro (14-4, 8-4).
Omro scored runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 2-1 lead over the Cougars.
The Cougars responded in the sixth inning with a leadoff single by Levi Bentz, and Gage Kohlmann hit a RBI double to tie the game at two.
Campbellsport scored two more runs to take a 4-2 lead, which turned out to be the winning margin for the Cougars.
Wyatt Loehr and Trent Schladweiler combined to shut down the Foxes on the pitching mound to knock Omro out of first place in the Flyway Conference standings.
At Omro
On May 12, Campbellsport baseball beat Omro 9-0 to defeat the first-place Foxes on the road.
Campbellsport (12-10, 6-6) got a leadoff single from Keegan Bowe in the first inning to help load the bases, which resulted in a Sac Fly by Carter Gellings to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead over Omro (14-4, 8-4).
The Cougars pulled away in the fifth inning by scoring seven runs after getting the bases loaded, featuring a Trent Schladweiler two-run RBI double to center and manufacturing the five other runs to take an impressive 8-0 lead on the road.
Campbellsport added a final run in the seventh inning to secure the 9-0 shutout road victory.
Levi Bentz got the win after allowing no runs and only two hits in the complete game victory for the Cougars.
“Levi was dominant in the complete game shutout on only 81 pitches,” said Head Coach Jim Krug.
Carter Gellings and Keegan Bowe led the offense, combining for four hits in the conference victory.
Campbellsport baseball hosted Lomira on May 19 after print time. The Cougars will travel to Lomira on May 21 and to KML on May 22, with game times at 5 p.m.
