Campbellsport Boys Basketball Hosts WLA

On February 13, Campbellsport boys basketball lost 69-40 to Winnebago Lutheran Academy (WLA) at home to their conference foe.
WLA (11-8, 8-3) had a 13-7 lead over Campbellsport (5-15, 3-8) before Jace Goebel made back-to-back three-pointers to tie the game at 13.
The Vikings held an 18-13 lead before the Cougars scored 10 consecutive points, featuring eight of their points scored by Noah Bobb, to give Campbellsport a 23-18 lead.
Campbellsport got a nice basket from Braden Bothe for two points, as a result of good ball movement, to bring the Cougars’ lead back to 25-20.

The Cougars went into the halftime locker room with a 25-23 lead over the visiting Vikings.
WLA scored the first eight points of the second half when Bobb made a three-pointer off a pass from Bothe to put the score at 31-28 in favor of the Vikings.
Campbellsport got a third three-point make from Goebel, which sent the gym into a cheering frenzy, to make the score 35-31 with WLA leading the conference matchup.
Bobb converted an offensive rebound into two points to stop a 5-0 scoring stretch by WLA to place the score at 40-33 with 13 minutes left in the game.
The Cougars got an impressive up-and-under move in the post from Emmett Gonnering to cut into the Vikings’ lead at 50-36.
WLA controlled the rest of the game getting a 69-40 conference victory on the road against Campbellsport.
Noah Bobb’s 14 points led the way for the Cougars in the contest.
Campbellsport hosted NFDL on February 18 and hosts Mayville on February 21 with game times at 7 p.m.
