Campbellsport Boys Basketball Makes 10 Three-Pointers Against Laconia
On January 24, Campbellsport boys basketball lost 73-54 to Laconia in their Flyway Conference matchup on the road.
Campbellsport (4-12, 2-5) was trailing 5-2 early to Laconia (12-2, 5-2) when Emmett Gonnering scored two points for the Cougars.
The Spartans went on a 14-0 run before Trent Schladweiler made a three-pointer and Jace Goebel scored a two-point basket to bring the score to 19-9 in favor of Laconia at the ten-minute mark of the first half.
The Cougars got a three-pointer from Braden Bothe to cut into the Laconia lead with the score at 21-12.
Noah Bobb and Owen Bong made three-point shots for the Cougars to make the score 32-22 before the Spartans scored the last four points of the first half to give themselves a 36-22 halftime lead.
Bothe drained a three-pointer from the corner and Gonnering converted a basket in the post before Goebel hit a three-pointer for the Cougars to stay within striking distance with a score of 43-32.
Campbellsport’s offense continued to get points for the team with two more threes from Bothe and a good post finish from Gonnering to tighten up the game at 52-40, with Laconia in the lead.
The Cougars received a three-pointer from Bong and a tough two-point basket from Gonnering to put the score at 62-47 in favor of the Spartans.
Laconia closed out the rest of the game to get the 73-54 conference victory over the visiting Cougars.
Braden Bothe’s 14 points and Emmett Gonnering’s 12 points paved the way for Campbellsport in the matchup.
Campbellsport boys basketball hosted Springs on January 28 at 7 p.m.
