On December 6, Campbellsport boys’ basketball lost 56-39 to Lomira in their home opener.
Campbellsport (03, 0-1) trailed 14-0 to Lomira (3-0, 1-0) early in the first half before Jace Goebel hit a three-point shot to get the Cougars on the scoreboard.
Lomira was ahead 23-3 in the game before Carter Gellings made two three pointers and Noah Bobb made one three pointer to close the gap with the Lions leading 28-12.
The Cougars were trailing 31-15 to Lomira at the halftime horn.
Bobb had a nice shot in the paint over the Lions’ tall center, Broeske, to get the Cougars started on the right foot in the second half.
The Lions pushed out their lead to 44-23 before Campbellsport went on an 11-0 scoring run featuring three pointers from Bobb and Owen Bong to make the score 44-34 with less than seven minutes left in the game.
Lomira went on a 7-0 run to regain a 51-34 lead before Bobb made his third three pointer of the game which was the final basket for the Cougars in the 5639 conference loss for Campbellsport.
“We got down big early but eventually we found the team we can be in the second half,” said Head Coach Ethan Elliott.
Noah Bobb led the Cougars with 15 points in their opening conference matchup of the season.
Campbellsport boys’ basketball travels to Springs on December 12 at 7 p.m.
