On September 11, the Campbellsport boys cross country team finished in sixth place, and the girls' team finished in 15th place at the Neenah Nightfall Classic in Division Two.
The races, with 411 runners in the boys' race and 393 runners in the girls' race, the course lit with strings of Christmas tree lights and well-placed portable tower lights, which started after sunset.
Garret Pickering finished in second place with a career-best time of 15:34, and Caleb Siebaur broke sixteen minutes for the first time in his career with a time of 15:54 to finish in fourth place.
Mason Dirmeier finished in sixth, taking 37 seconds off his previous best time of 16:18.
“A total of 7 Cougar runners had personal best times: Madeline Kester, Eva Pendowski,
Kourtney Bong, Kaylee Wiskirchen, Brittany Ebert, Bella Sitzberger, and Ava Lackas all improved on their previous best times,” said Campbellsport Head Coach Mike Kulibert.
WLA Invite
On September 8, the Campbellsport boys cross country team held several runners out of the race at the WLA Viking Invitational and, as a result, did not have a complete team.
Caleb Siebauer, Mason Dirmeier, and Garrett Pickering all crossed the finish line in 18:04 to finish as the top three runners at the Invite
The Campbellsport Girls cross country team finished fourth out of six complete teams at the
Invite.
“The meet was held on a very challenging and hilly course at Kiekhaefer Park just north of Fond du Lac,” said Head Coach Mike Kulibert.
Madeline Kester and Eva Pendowski were the top runners for the Cougars, finishing in 11th and 14th place.
Campbellsport cross country teams traveled to Sheboygan Lutheran on September 15 after print time. The Cougars will compete at Muskego on September 19.
