Campbellsport Girls Soccer Starts the Season with a Tie

On April 3, Campbellsport tied Ripon 1-1 in their season opener at Ingalls Field in Ripon.
Campbellsport (0-0-1) and Ripon (0-0-1) were in a scoreless tie at halftime in a game which was originally scheduled as a home game for the Cougars but was changed due to the weather conditions during the week.
Ripon scored a goal at the 66th minute to take a 1-0 lead over the Cougars but Campbellsport responded when Addie Kohlman passed the ball to Hannah Stommel with a beautiful kick to the corner of the goal to score in the 76th minute of the game to tie the game for Cougars at 1-1.
Both teams fought hard in the last 14 minutes of the game which resulted in the 1-1 tie for the two teams.

“The girls played a solid first game of the season with the defense having a solid game with their aggressive play and stopping scoring opportunities for Ripon,” said Head Coach Kalista Hodorff. “The offense learned a lot throughout the game and the girls came back with a fury in the second half by finding their way to get scoring opportunities.”
Cambpellsport girls’ soccer will travel to Kohler on April 8 and to West Bend East/West on April 10 with game times at 7 p.m.
