Campbellsport Legion 19U Baseball Starts Season with Two Wins

CAMPBELLSPORT – On June 15, Campbellsport Legion 19U baseball lost 4-1 to Springs Legion Post in a rain makeup from June 10.
Springs led 1-0 when Jace Goebel hit a single in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game up at one for Campbellsport (2-2).
Legion Post 454 retook the lead in the third at 2-1, then added a run in the fifth and sixth innings to secure the 4-1 win over the Cougars.
On June 13, Campbellsport Legion 19U baseball lost 13-2 to Springs Legion Post 454 in five innings.

Campbellsport (2-2) scored the first two runs of the game thanks to an RBI double from Wyatt Loehr and an RBI single from Gage Kohlmann to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
On June 13, Campbellsport Legion 19U baseball beat Menominee 9-2 for their second win on the season.
Menominee was leading 2-0 in the third inning when Campbellsport’s (2-2) Trent Schladweiler hit a leadoff triple and came around to score to make the score 2-1.
Schladweiler tied up the game in the fourth inning with an RBI double, and the Cougars scored two runs in the fifth inning to take a 4-2 lead.
Campbellsport scored five runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a two-run RBI double from Jace Goebel and RBI doubles from Cullen Reis and Hunter Cochran to give the Cougars the winning margin of 9-2.
Springs scored nine runs in the third inning to take control of the game on their way to a 13-2 win over Campbellsport.
On June 12, Campbellsport Legion 19U baseball started its season with a 5-2 win over Marquette Legion at Herr-Baker Field in Fond du Lac.
Campbellsport (2-2) got a leadoff double from Trent Schladweiler in the first inning, then Schladweiler was driven in by an RBI single from Jace Goebel to take a 1-0 lead.
The Cougars added four runs in the sixth inning, featuring an RBI single by Gage Kohlmann and a two-run RBI double from Wyatt Loehr to increase their lead to 5-0 over Marquette.
Marquette scored two runs in the sixth inning before Kohlmann struck out two batters in the seventh inning to secure the 5-2 win for Campbellsport.
