Campbellsport Softball has a Perfect Week with Three Conference Wins

On April 28, Campbellsport softball beat NFDL 16-1 in four innings for their third consecutive Flyway conference win.
Campbellsport (5-6, 3-4) trailed 1-0 to NFDL (2-5, 2-5) before the Cougars’ offense took over the game by scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning highlighted by a two-run RBI double from Emma Muraski and a RBI single by Megan McCarty to take a 4-1 lead over the Orioles.
The Cougars tacked on two runs in the second inning to increase their lead to 6-1 before the Campbellsport bats got going in the third inning, starting with Muraski’s second home run of the season to put the home team ahead 7 to 1.
M. McCarty hit a single before McKenna Loehr hit a two-run bomb over the left field fence to push the lead to 9-1 for the Cougars, and their offense wasn’t done with their potent bats by scoring another two more runs before Campbellsport loaded the bases for M. McCarty with two outs in the inning.

Campbellsport’s M. McCarty delivered big in the key moment by clearing the bases with a grand slam to center field to explode the Cougars' lead at 15-1 after three innings over NFDL.
The Cougars finished off the Orioles in the fourth inning thanks to a Loehr double, then Ayla Garvey hit a double to drive Loehr in to give Campbellsport a 16-1 win in four innings with the Cougars scoring for 15+ runs for the second game in a week.
Campbellsport’s offense was led by three home runs from Emma Muraski, Megan McCarty, McKeena Loehr, and M. McCarty, driving in five cougar teammates for the impressive home conference win.
At WLA
On April 24, Campbellsport softball beat WLA 5-1 for their second conference win of the week.
Campbellsport (5-6, 3-4) got a 1-0 lead over WLA (1-7, 0-6) in the top of the second inning thanks to a run scored by Megan McCarty.
Peyton Hall started the Cougars’ offense with a leadoff triple in the third inning and then was driven in by an Emma Batzler double to give Campbellsport a 2-0 lead over the Vikings.
The Cougars got a double from M. McCarty in the fourth inning, who came around to score during the inning to extend the Campbellsport lead to 3-0 on the road.
Campbellsport was able to add two runs scored by Shea Willacker and Ava Sabish when the Vikings misplayed a ball hit by Batzler to give the Cougars a 5-0 lead in the sixth inning.
WLA was able to score a run in the seventh inning before the Cougars secured the 5-1 victory for their second straight conference win.
The Cougars were led by Peyton Hall’s strong seven innings from the pitching circle, and the offense was led by four batters with two hits apiece, paced by Emma Batzler’s three runs batted in the victory.
Vs Omro
On April 22, Campbellsport softball beat Omro 15-0 in three innings in their Flyway Conference matchup.
Campbellsport (5-6, 3-4) jumped out early with five runs in the first inning over Omro (0-11, 0-6) thanks to RBI singles from Emma Batzler and Ava Sabish, including RBI doubles by Olivia McCarty and Kaylie Jandre for a 5-0 lead.
The Cougars’ offense was just getting started when they exploded for ten runs in the second inning, with nine runs coming after the Foxes got two outs on Campbellsport.
O. McCarty got things going with an RBI single, which was followed by a Jandre RBI double and Josie Twohig RBI single to extend the lead to 8-0.
Campbellsport scored two runs on passed balls. Then the Cougars got two-run RBI singles from O. McCarty and McKenna Loehr to push their lead to 14-0 over the Foxes.
The Cougars scored their final run on another passed ball to increase their lead to 15-0 after two innings of play.
Campbellsport closed out Omro in three innings to send everyone home happy from the Cougars’ crowd with a 15-0 win for their first conference victory on the season.
The Cougars were led by Olivia McCarty’s two innings on the mound and three hits to drive in four teammates in the win.
Campbellsport softball hosted Mayville on April 29 and travels to Springs on May 1 at 5 p.m. The Cougars travel to Westby on May 3 at 10 a.m.
