On May 7, Campbellsport softball beat Omro 19-1 in three innings at home to sweep the season series between the two teams.
Campbellsport (16-3, 10-1) scored five runs in the first inning, highlighted by an Emma Muraski RBI single and Grace Schwarz’s two-run RBI double to take a 5-0 lead over Omro (5-14, 1-10).
The Cougars’ offense exploded for ten runs in the second inning, started by a Ava Sabish leadoff double followed by RBI singles from Peyton Hall, Mackenzie Helsell, McKenna Loehr, and Grace Schwarz, giving Campbellsport a 10-1 lead.
The Campbellsport impressive inning continued when Sabish hit her second double of the inning, driving in two runs, then RBIs from Muraski and Loehr to increase the Cougars’ lead to a commanding 15-1 lead.
The Cougars scored their final four runs of the game, facing two outs in the third inning with RBI singles from Hall and Muraski, then Loehr with a two-run RBI double to give Campbellsport the 19-1 win in three innings.
Emma Muraski, Peyton Hall, Ava Sabish, and Mackenzie Helsell combined for 13 hits and eight runs batted in to power the Cougars’ impressive offense against the Foxes.
Campbellsport softball beat Omro 15-0 in three innings at home in the first game of the doubleheader.
Campbellsport (16-3, 10-1) started the game off fast with eight runs in the first inning, featuring an RBI double from Emma Muraski and a two-run RBI double from Olivia McCarty.
The Cougars were facing two outs in the first when Taylor Schladweiler drove in two runs with a single, and the inning was capped off by a Ava Sabish two-run home run over the left field fence for an 8-0 lead over Omro (5-14, 1-10).
Muraski led off the second inning with a single, sparking the Cougars offense to score five more runs, highlighted by RBI doubles from Mackenzie Helsell, McKenna Loehr, and McCarty to increase Campbellsport’s lead to 13-0 over the Foxes.
Campbellsport scored two runs in the third inning to secure the impressive 15-0 conference win in three innings.
Emma Muraski, Mackenzie Helsell, McKenna Loehr, and Olivia McCarty combined for eight hits and seven runs batted in for Campbellsport’s offense.
Campbellsport softball hosted WLA on May 12 after print time. The Cougars will travel to Lomira on May 14 and will host NFDL on May 18 will game times at 5 p.m.
