Campbellsport Volleyball Dominates Ledgers on Youth Night

On September 20, Campbellsport (13-10) volleyball won its first four matches by two-game sweeps against Columbus, Winneconne, Markesan, and Laconia to advance to the championship match at the Berlin Invitational.
The Cougars lost the championship match in two sets in a rematch against Winneconne to finish in second place with a 4-1 record on the day.
“I am consistently impressed with the level of volleyball my team brings to the tournaments,” said Head Coach Alexander Brenner. “I am beyond proud of how they played on Saturday!”
Vs Springs

On September 18, Campbellsport volleyball was fueled by a warm and full gym on Youth Night to defeat St. Mary’s Springs Academy 3-1 in their Flyway Conference matchup.
Campbellsport (13-10, 2-1) came out strong against Springs (4-13, 0-2), winning the first set by a score of 25-16 before the Ledgers won the second set 25-23.
The Cougars led most of the third set and had a match point at 24-20 before Springs tied the set at 24, but Campbellsport responded by scoring the final two points to win the set at 26-24.
The fourth set was a back-and-forth affair with the score tied at 18 before the Cougars took control of the set and won it by a score of 25-20 to win the match 3-1 against the Ledgers.
“I’m really proud of the progress this group continues to make with the girls who came out ready to play, showing confidence, force, and determination, but also enjoying themselves along the way,” said Head Coach Alexander Brenner. “Seeing them together and translating that hard work into success on the court makes me excited for what’s ahead this season.”
Campbellsport volleyball travels to Omro on September 25 at 7 p.m. and to Port Washington on September 27, with matches starting at 8 a.m.
