ellsport’s Blake Heltemes will play in the WFCA Football All-Star at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh for the North Small Team at Noon.
Heltemes started to play football in his eighth-grade year and has loved the game ever since.
“My favorite football moment was Friday Night Lights playing for the Campbellsport Cougars,” said Blake Heltemes.
Blake was a first-team all-state inside linebacker on the small school all-state defensive team after being named the Flyway Conference Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-conference inside linebacker in his senior year in 2025 with 134 total tackles, including 15 TFLs and six sacks.
Heltemes was named all-region in Division 3 Small school as an inside linebacker and was also selected as a first-team running back in the Flyway conference with 555 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

In his junior season, he was a first-team all-conference inside linebacker with 109 total tackles, including 10 TFLs and three sacks in 2024.
As a first varsity starter as a sophomore, Blake was an honorable mention selection at inside linebacker with 107 total tackles, including three TFLS and two sacks in 2023.
“Football is important to me because it doesn’t just help you with grit on the field but also off the field in life,” said Heltemes.
“Blake was an All-State inside linebacker. Blake started working extremely hard during the off-season after his freshman season towards this and just continued to push himself,” said Campbellsport Head Coach Todd Wondra. “The best thing is that while he was working himself, he was always willing to help others in the weight room if they needed it. Blake was a great kid and leader to have in the program and he’s going to be missed dearly next season.”
“Some of my biggest influences are my family, friends and coaches, especially the ones that got me to play the sport of football,” said Heltemes.
