On April 20, Campbellsport softball defeated Mayville 14-1 in five innings in a dominating performance in their first game in seven days due to weather conditions.
Campbellsport (6-2, 2-1) got out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning over Mayville (0-6, 0-4), featuring an RBI double to left field thanks to Mackenzie Helsell.
The Cardinals would score their only run of the game in the third inning to make the score 2-1 before the Cougars responded with four runs in the bottom of the third inning, highlighted by an Emma Muraski two-run RBI single and a RBI double from Olivia McCarty to push the Campbellsport lead out to 6-1 over Mayville.
The Cougars got an Ayla Garvery leadoff double to start the fourth inning before Ava Sabish blasted a three-run home run over the left field fence to increase the Campbellsport lead to 9-1 with no outs in the fourth.
Campbellsport got the bases loaded with no outs, which resulted in five more runs for the Cougars, with the highlight being a McKenna Loehr two-run RBI double to help the lead balloon to 14-1 after four innings.
Olivia McCarty got the win by striking out seven Cardinals in the Flyway conference win.
Ava Sabsih, Mackenzie Helsell, and Emma Muraski paced with the offense with six combined hits and six runs batted in the matchup.
Campbellsport softball traveled to WLA on April 21 after print time. The Cougars will host Lomira on April 23 and Winneconne on April 24. Campbellsport will travel to NFDL on April 27 with all games at 5 p.m.
