On Feb 26, Campbellsport boys basketball lost 55-49 to St. Mary’s Springs Academy at home on Senior Night for Noah Bobb, Jace Goebel, Trent Schladweiler, Cullen Reis, Cayden Flasch, and Deacon Cousert.
The game started with a special moment for senior Jace Goebel, who has been out of the season with an injury. Springs (9-15, 5-9) allowed to score a basket for the Campbellsport (7-17, 4-10) to start the game.
“Thank you to the Ledgers and Coach Krueger for allowing us to get Jace a bucket tonight,” said Head Coach Ethan Elliott. “It was a great way to send him off on senior night.”
The Cougars took a 15-9 lead over the Ledgers, featuring eight points from senior Noah Bobb and a three-pointer from Pierce Kaehne.
The Ledgers scored seven straight points before Trent Schladweiler knocked down a three-pointer to regain the lead at 18-16 for the Cougars.
Springs was leading 21-20 when the Cougars scored nine consecutive points, started by a Bobb pull-up three-pointer, then capped off by Cullen Reis basket to give Campbellsport a 29-21 halftime lead.
The Ledgers sprinted out in the second half on a 14-1 run before Carter Gellings splashed a three-pointer from the corner to put the score 35-33 in favor of Springs.
Springs took control of the game with a 15-6 scoring stretch, but the Cougars kept fighting in the game with three-pointers from Reis and Trevin Shea to make the final score 55-47, with Springs going home with the conference win.
Noah Bobb scored 16 points on senior night to close out the regular season for Campbellsport.

On Feb. 24, Campbellsport boys basketball lost 81-41 to Kettle Moraine Lutheran on the road against the 10th-ranked Chargers.
Campbellsport’s (7-17) Carter Gellings hit a three-pointer to make the score 14-5 with KML (16-8) in the lead.
The Chargers were able to extend their lead to 40-17 at the halftime break against the Cougars.
Campbellsport got three three-pointers from Trent Schaldweiler, and Pierce Kaehne made a three-pointer as highlights for the Cougars in the second half.
Pierce Kaehne’s 12 points and Trent Schladweiler’s 10 points paced the Cougars in the 81-41 loss to the Chargers.
Campbellsport Boys Basketball, as the seven-seed team, hosted the ten-seed NFDL in the first round of the WIAA Tournament on Feb. 24 after print time.
