The Lady Cougar Bowlers had their first home match this past Monday, December 1, and a good home match it was. The Cougars beat the West Bend East Suns 9-0. The Suns have a pretty young team in their defense, but they try hard and don’t let their spirits get down. The Cougars ripped off a 146, a 178 and a 229 in their first three games and went on to average a 158 for the nine games of the match.
“This was our highest scoring match of the season and we were bowling on a new lane pattern this week,” said Coach Serwe. The Cougars are bowling with a lot more confidence.
Lillee Thorn led the team effort this week, filling 15 of 16 frames, tossing seven strikes and eight spares. Freshman Ava Polzin followed closely, filling 11 of 14. Anchor Abby Jarmuz chipped in 10 of 16 and Kendall Boegel 8 of 14 and Viola Schrauth 7 of 14.
The Cougars traveled to King Pin Bowl this week.
Stats for the match were as follows (strikes-spares-total frames): Lillee Kiehnau 7-8-16; Kendall Boegel 5-3-14; Ava Polzin 7-4-14; Viola Schrauth 3-4-14; Abby Jarmuz 6-4-16; Genna Grahl 1-6-16.
