Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Promotes Broderick to Captain/Jail Administrator

Posted

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt has announced the promotion of Tyler Broderick to Captain/Jail Administrator.

In his new role, Broderick will oversee the operations of the jail division, with a continued emphasis on safety, security, and inmate programs.

Broderick has served as Assistant Jail Administrator from 2019 to present, leading daily jail operations, policy implementation, and other administrative functions. He began his career with the Sheriff’s Office Jail Division in 2006 as a correctional officer on both 2nd and 3rd shifts. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2013, supervising 3rd shift, and to Staff Sergeant in August 2016, where his primary responsibilities included overseeing the Huber/Electronic Monitoring Division. In addition to his jail leadership duties, he is a member of the Deputy Reserve Unit.

Broderick holds an associate degree in Police Science from Fox Valley Technical College. His dedication to public safety and his leadership across multiple jail divisions will further enhance the office’s ability to serve the community, according to Waldschmidt.

Broderick succeeds former Jail Administrator Jim Borgen, who accepted a position with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as an Office of Detention Facilities Specialist. Borgen served Fond du Lac County for 24 years.
