Janet Marie Espitia (nee Parker), 84, peacefully passed away at home in Kewaskum on Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by family.
She was born on April 6, 1941 in Milwaukee, to Charles and June (nee Belanger) Parker.
Janet married her love, Joseph Nicholas Espitia, on February 18, 1958, in Wauwatosa. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1975 and then moved to West Bend. Janet ran a daycare for over 20 years and was a foster of many.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a colorful character who many called grandma! She was also a lifetime member of TOPS.
Janet is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Karen) and William (Denita); grandchildren, Steven (Kristin) Espitia, Kathleen (Calvin) Wynn, Ann (Richard) Andre, and Rachel (Greg) Rate; great-grandchildren, Steven Jr. (Hayleigh), Summer, Xavier Espitia; Victoria and Zachary Dries, Ezekiel Wynn, and Bailey and Scarlett Rate; great-great-granddaughter, Aspen Espitia; sister, Barbara Buday; and brothers-in-law, Charles Espitia and Paul Kobs Sr. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her love, Joe; her parents; sister, Susan; sister-in-law, Helen Kobs and brothers-in-law, David, Robert, Leo Espitia and Alex Buday.
A reading of her self-written eulogy was held at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation was at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 23, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Interment followed at Washington County Memorial
