Jay Graven Drives In 5 To Lead Horicon Varsity Marshmen Past Wayland Academy

Jay Graven drove in five runs on two hits to lead Horicon Varsity Marshmen past Wayland Academy 22-1 on Thursday, May 7, at Discher Park. Graven tripled in the first inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the second inning, scoring two.
Horicon Varsity Marshmen got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Park induced Max LaBlanc to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Reed Vorlob singled, scoring one run, Park induced Brady Anderson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Ethan Strieff tripled, scoring two runs, Barrett Meyer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Graven tripled, scoring three runs, and Vorlob hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Horicon Varsity Marshmen scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Graven doubled, scoring two runs; Cole Berggren singled, scoring two runs, and Anderson singled, scoring one run.
Horicon Varsity Marshmen added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Bryce Franz singled, Ashton Muche hit a sacrifice fly, Anderson singled down the left field line, Strieff walked, Wayland Academy committed an error, Ashton Krumholz walked, and Wayland Academy committed an error, each scoring one run.
Anderson earned the win for Horicon Varsity Marshmen. The pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking three. Eli Halla took the loss for Lourdes Academy Knights 2026. The starter went six innings, surrendering four runs on eight hits, striking out two, and walking one.
Barrett Meyer, LaBlanc, and Brady Anderson each collected two hits for Horicon Varsity Marshmen. Vorlob, LaBlanc, and Berggren each drove in one run for Horicon Varsity Marshmen. Horicon Varsity Marshmen didn’t commit a single error in the field. Meyer had the most chances in the field with 12.
Michael Santiago went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Lourdes Academy Knights 2026 in hits.
