Jordan Stolz has Success at Olympic Trials

Posted

Jordan Stolz once again demonstrated why he is considered one of the top speed skaters during the USA Speed Skating Olympic Trials at the Pettit Center in Milwaukee. He will go on to compete in the Winter Olympics set for February 6 through February 22 in Milan–Cortina, Italy.
On January 3, Stolz finished third in the 1,000 meters with a time of 1:07.96 after stumbling and briefly falling onto the ice. The race marked the first time this year that Stolz did not win the 1,000 meters, though he was already pre-qualified as the world’s number one skater.
He bounced back the very next day, capturing first place in the 500 meters on January 4 with a strong time of 34.96. On January 5, Stolz did not compete in the 1,500 meters, having already secured pre-qualification in that distance, as well.
Stolz’s resume continues to grow with each win. He swept the sprint races at both the 2023 and 2024 World Championships and currently holds the world record in the 1,100 meters with a time of 1:05.37. He competed in his first Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022, placing 13th in the 500m and 14th in the 1,000m.
He will be competing in the 500m, 1,000m, and the 1,500m, and mass start at this year’s Olympic Games.
