Posted

The Kewaskum Indians (11-6, 5-5) defeated the Random Lake Rams (16-2, 8-0) 11-8 in non-conference action Friday, May 8, afternoon in Kewaskum. In a back-and-forth contest, the Indians seized control in the fourth inning and never relinquished the lead.
Random Lake struck first with a three-run home run to open the scoring, but Kewaskum responded quickly. Cole Loser launched his first home run of the season, driving in two runs to cut the deficit. Later in the inning, with two outs, Alex Jacobson doubled down the right-field line and scored on a Brayden Loehr RBI single to keep the momentum going.
The Rams answered in the second inning with another home run, extending their lead to 4-3. However, after two quick outs in the bottom half, the Indians rallied. A walk followed by back-to-back singles from Levi Whitfield and Loser (2 RBIs) pushed Kewaskum back in front.
Following a scoreless third inning, Random Lake added a run in the fourth to tie the game. That’s when the Indians delivered the decisive blow. Behind a two-out rally and several wild pitches, Kewaskum plated three runs to take an 8-5 lead — a margin they would not surrender.
The Rams struggled to keep Liam Stoffel off the basepaths. Stoffel finished without an official at-bat, drawing three walks and being hit by a pitch while scoring three runs.

The Kewaskum Indians (10-6, 5-5) earned a big Glacier Trails Conference victory Thursday, May 7, afternoon, defeating the second-place Port Washington Pirates (8-8, 5-3) by a 14-6 final.
Kewaskum wasted no time getting on the board. Liam Stoffel opened the game with a walk before Levi Whitfield launched his first home run of the season over the left-field fence to give the Indians an early 2-0 advantage.
Port Washington answered in the second inning with a two-out rally. Starter Cole Loser (4 IP, 0 ER, 6 H, 7 K, 3 BB) recorded a groundout and strikeout before the Pirates sent eight batters to the plate, taking advantage of a Kewaskum error to grab the lead.
The Indians quickly responded with a rally of their own in the top of the third. With two runners on and two outs, Leo Gerhartz and Loser delivered back-to-back RBI doubles before Jace Wichtoski added an RBI single to put Kewaskum back in front 6-5. Port Washington tied the game in the bottom half of the inning, but Stoffel answered immediately with his third home run of the season, a solo blast to right field that restored the Indians’ lead.
Kewaskum faced a major threat later in the game when the Pirates put runners on second and third with nobody out. Reliever Marcus Perondi stepped in and delivered one of the game’s biggest moments, striking out two batters and inducing a flyout to escape the jam and preserve the lead. Perondi was dominant in relief, throwing three hitless innings while allowing no runs and striking out five.
The Indians added breathing room in the sixth inning. Wichtoski tripled and later scored on a Kyle Haim fielder’s choice. Courtesy runner Zach Lefeber followed by scoring on a Whitfield RBI single. A Pirate error and a Gerhartz RBI single capped the four-run inning as Kewaskum extended its lead to 11-6.
Perondi worked around two walks in the bottom of the sixth before getting a flyout to end the inning and send the Indians back to the plate. In the seventh, Stoffel was hit by a pitch with two outs and later scored on a Pirate error. Kingston Grisolono added an RBI double, and Perondi contributed a single to help put the game away.
Gerhartz led the Indians offensively with three hits, while Stoffel, Whitfield, Loser, and Wichtoski each collected two hits in the win.
