Kewaskum boys’ basketball took on Kettle Moraine Lutheran at an away conference game on January 6. The Indians had a 3-7 overall record and Kettle Moraine Lutheran had a 6-3 overall record.
Scoring was led by sophomore Ollie Grover’s 11 points. Grover shot efficiently, going 4-of-7 from the field and a perfect 2-for-2 from three-point range, while adding a free throw. Jackson Corbin followed with 10 points and added four rebounds, two assists and a steal, while sophomore Marcus Fleischman finished with eight points and dominated the boards with a game-high 18 rebounds, including four offensive, and one blocked shot. Fleischman also dished out two assists. Quin Dornacker contributed two rebounds, and Jace Wichtoski added an assist.
They then played Port Washington on Friday, January 9, for a home conference game. Port Washington had a 9-1 overall record.
Kewaskum was paced offensively by junior Jackson Corbin, who poured in a game-high 25 points while shooting 8-of-14 from the field and knocking down six three-pointers. Senior Chase Cook added 16 points and four triples, while sophomore Ollie Grover chipped in six points on a pair of three-pointers. Marcus Fleischman and Cook each grabbed eight rebounds, with Cook also recording three steals. Grover added five rebounds and a steal. Senior Eli Steinbauer led the offense with five assists.
This sets the Indians’ overall record at 3-9. They will play their next games at home on January 13 against Grafton, after print time, and against Cedar Grove-Belgium on January 16 at 7 p.m.
