The Kewaskum High School football team traveled to Beaver Dam for their last away game of the season on Friday, Oct. 11. The boys were defeated by a score of 0-35.

“Beaver Dam is a senior-oriented team; they are very experienced and well coached,” stated Coach Kreif.

The Indians gave up two touchdowns in the first quarter, leaving them trailing by 14 points to start the game.

In the second quarter, Beaver Dam scored three more times adding 21 additional points to the board. This made the score 35-0 at halftime, which would end up being the final score of the game.

“The second half we held our opponents to zero points,” said Kreif.

After halftime, the Kewaskum defense worked together to stop Beaver Dam from scoring again.

“Our offense did a better job of sustaining some drives, although not scoring. Offense and defense played much better in the second half,” said the coach.

The Indians were unsuccessful at putting up points against their opponents but they showed growth as a team during the second part of the matchup.

“Gabe Halopka led our defense. His new role in offense allows him to be fresh for the defensive side of the ball. He played great,” said Kreif.

Halopka had six total tackles on the night, and Samuel Ciriacks had eight.

On the offensive side, Everett Donath led the team with 35 rushing yards while Eli Ogi followed with ten.

Landon Daniel and Carter Unger both contributed 34 receiving yards.

This Friday, Oct.18, Kewaskum will fight for a win during their final game of the season against Plymouth.

“Hats off to all of our seniors as we head into our final game against Plymouth. It will be senior night and this group of seniors has done a great job keeping the team together during a tough season! I am very proud of all of them,” concluded Coach Kreif.

The Indians will host the Panthers at the Doc Mitchell Athletic Complex on Friday, Oct. 18.
