The Kewaskum High School football team hosted Kettle Moraine Lutheran (KML) on Friday, Oct. 4.

The homecoming game ended in a 42-7 loss for the Indians who are now 0-7 on the season.

The game began with KML scoring off of a five-yard run in the first quarter.

Kewaskum’s defense held the opposing team from scoring again until the second quarter when KML added another touchdown to their score making it 14-0 going into the half.

“We played a very competitive first half and came up short on a fourth and goal which would have made it a 14-7 game going into halftime,” added coach Kreif.

The Indians responded by scoring their first touchdown of the night, which would end up being the team’s only points in the homecoming match-up. Quarterback Eli Ogi threw a 34-yard pass to Johnny Hooker in the fourth quarter.

KML ended the game by scoring two more touchdowns in the fourth, resulting in a 42-7 loss for the home team.

“KML runs their offense very well, and we just simply ran out of gas,” stated Kreif.

Everett Donath led the team offensively with 45-rushing yards.

“Everett Donath, our tailback, ran the ball very well this week. He was definitely our bright spot offensively,” said the coach.

Johnny Hooker had 64-receiving yards and Landon Daniel was close behind with 50.

Defensively, Gabriel Halopka and Jude Johnson both put up nine total tackles on the night.

The Indians fought hard but were unable to pull off a win.
