The Kewaskum High School girls’ tennis team went to Waupun High School on August 21 for their season opener. They defeated Waupun 6-1. Head Coach Bradley Preder said, “It was a very positive start to the season.”
On Saturday, August 23, the girls competed in the Washington County Invitational.
Senior Ella Drewitz placed as a runner-up at #4 singles and defeated her opponents from West Bend West and Waukesha West, before being defeated by Slinger in the final. At #1 doubles, seniors Hannah Galasinski and Anna Parish medaled, placing third. In their third-place match, Hannah and Anna lost the first set against West Bend East, before coming back to win the second set and the match tiebreaker.
Kewaskum had non-conference matches in Mayville on Tuesday, August 26, and then they host St. Mary’s Springs on Thursday, August 28, starting at 4:15 p.m. Glacier Trails Conference play begins in September.
