Kewaskum Golfers Played Through Busy Week at Berlin, Ripon, and Sheboygan

On Tuesday, April 15, Kewaskum traveled to Berlin and Ripon for two separate conference meets. The first match was at Mascoutin Golf Course, where the Indians shot a team score of 173 to secure third place in conference, a big improvement after their first conference meet where they tied for sixth. The Indians were led by Jaxson Voit’s 40 (fifth place) and Eli Steinbauer’s 41 (seventh place).
Later in the afternoon on the 15, all the conference teams traveled to Lawsonia for Ripon’s home conference meet. The Kewaskum Indians shot a team 172, finishing in fourth place. The Indians were led by Jaxson Voit’s 41 (fifth place) and Alex Theusch’s 43 (10th place). This was one of the closest conference meets from first to last place, with only 13 strokes separating them. The conference is very deep, and I always say one of the toughest D2 conferences in the state, as our conference has been represented at state by multiple teams throughout recent years.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Kewaskum got to travel to the Sheboygan North Invite - one of the premier tournaments of the season. The invite takes place at Whistling Straits - Irish Course and Blackwolf Run - Championship Course. The team was at Whistling Straits on Wednesday, and shot a 363 (Alex Theusch 86, Jaxson Voit 88, Eli Steinbauer 92, David Zillmer 97, Brent Krejcarek 101). We played better on this day, but still have way too many blow up holes with triple bogeys or worse.
On Thursday, Kewaskum shot a 366 at Blackwolf Run, which typically scores harder than Whistling Straits, but conditions were much tougher on this day with the wind. The Indians were led by Alex Theusch and Jaxson Voit shooting an 89. Eli Steinbaurer 92, Chase Cook 96, Brent Krejcarek 99.
The Indians have a lighter week this week with one conference meet on Tuesday, April 22 at Waupun.
