Kewaskum Indians Baseball Makes State Tournament Push

After a 4-1 win against Ripon on Wednesday, June 4, in Kewaskum, the Indians faced the Kiel Raiders at home the next day on Thursday, June 5.

The top of the first inning was highlighted by a pick-off of the Kiel baserunner at first by starting pitcher Kingston Grisolono.
In the bottom of the inning, Kewaskum was quick to put three runs on the board. Grisolono got the hitting spree going with a double, then Austin Reichel hit an RBI single to help the first run cross the plate. Everett Donath hit a sacrifice bunt, catching Kiel by surprise, to help the second run across. The third run came after a Levi Whitfield RBI double.
An RBI single in the third inning made the score 4-0 in favor of Kewaskum.
Tyler Densow took advantage of Kiel’s tiring defense in the bottom of the fourth inning, stealing second, then third on a bad throw, and home on a wild pitch. Reichel hit another RBI single in the inning to make it a 6-0 game.

One more run was scored by the Indians to secure the 7-0 Regional Champions title.
No. 1 Kewaskum played the Sectional Semifinal game in Waupaca on Tuesday, June 10, against the two-seed Waupun. The winner of that game was to play the winner of No. 1 Seymour versus No. 3 Little Chute, later the same day.
