Senior McKenna Lange led Kewaskum's effort at the Glacier Trails Conference tournament by earning the championship at No. 2 singles. The event was held Tuesday, Sept. 29th at Plymouth High School.
Lange had earned the #2 seed in her bracket, thanks to her 4-1 regular season record in conference matches. In her first tournament match, McKenna outlasted her opponent from West Bend East in a tiebreaker. Then in the championship match, McKenna continued her steady play, with a straight sets win over Maddie Franz of West Bend West. Lange showed determination, patience, consistency and creativity, drawing her opponent to the net and sending accurate shots over head to record many points. The championship match victory gave McKenna her 8th victory in her last 9 singles matches.
Kaitlyn Wendelborn was another standout for Kewaskum. Kaitlyn won her first match at No. 3 singles. She would eventually be defeated in a tiebreaker in the third place match, but showed incredible heart and determination all day.
Kewaskum also got victories from Macy Milella at No.1 singles, and Madelyn Jacoby and Lily DeRuyter at No. 2 doubles.
