Kewaskum Tennis Earns Two Wins to Finish Week

Posted

On September 12, Kewaskum swept the singles matches versus Sheboygan South, with Macy Milella, Ruby McCain, McKenna Lange, and Kaitylyn Wendelborn all earning decisive victories.

Playing doubles together for the first time this season, Elle Schulz and Madelyn Jacoby nearly pulled off a comeback victory, falling just short in a 10-8 tiebreaker.

Kewaskum also fared well in singles versus Howards Grove, with Lange, Wendelborn, and Claire Pamperin earning victories.  Lange and Wendelborn went 2-0 on the day.

Pamperin's win came in an exciting 10-8 tiebreaker victory.  Howards Grove was victorious in two doubles matches, but was not able to field a #3 doubles team due to player illness.

Vs West Bend West

On September 10, the Kewaskum Girls Tennis team started their week with a conference match against the West Bend West Spartans. West Bend defeated Kewaskum by a 5-2 score.

A pair of tightly-contested tiebreakers allowed West Bend West to earn the victory in a Glacier Trails Conference dual meet. Kewaskum got straight-set wins from seniors Macy Milella and McKenna Lange at #1 and #3 singles, respectively.

The two tiebreakers finished at the same time, and both went to West Bend West by a 13-11 score.   Emersen Stauske and Natasha Tyler edged Kewaskum’s Ruby McCain and Eleanor Schulz. Meanwhile, Eden Pionkowski rallied past sophomore Bryn Schairer, who was playing her first-ever varsity singles match.
