On August 28, Kewaskum Football defeated Campbellsport 35-0 at home to secure the Kettle Moraine Trophy for the 2026 season.
Kewaskum (1-1) scored their touchdown of the game at the 10:18 mark in the first quarter when Senior Quarterback Eli Ogi connected with Junior Wide Receiver Levi Whitfield (92 receiving yards for a 46-yard passing touchdown where Whitfield sprinted towards the end zone for the final 30 yards after catching the ball, giving the Indians a 7-0 lead over Campbellsport (0-2).
Ogi (125 passing yards) threw his second touchdown of the game when he threw a beautiful fade pass to the front corner of the end zone, where Junior Wide Receiver Jace Wichtoski high-pointed the ball in the air and took the contact from the Cougars defender to push Kewaskum to 14-0 at the 5:29 mark in the first quarter.
“Eli, Levi and Jace are very talented players and have worked very hard in the offseason,” said Head Coach Jeff Rondorf. “I knew they would bounce back from last week and make plays for us.
Junior Running Back Landon Scheel had a bulldozing 31-yard rush, breaking five Cougars tackles, which set up Scheel to score a one-yard rushing touchdown with 1:03 left in the first quarter, increasing the Kewaskum lead to 21-0.
Campbellsport’s special teams blocked a 45-yard field goal from Kewaskum at the 6:48 mark in the second quarter.
Scheel (126 rushing yards) added his second touchdown of the game with another one-yard touchdown to give Kewaskum a 28-0 halftime lead.
“Landon sets the tone for our offense with his physicality and toughness,” said Rondorf. “Our offensive line had a good night, which gave Landon enough room to get going and he did a great job of finishing carries.
Kewaskum’s defense, led by Jude Johnson, Chase Heinonen, and Leo Gerhartz, controlled the line of scrimmage most of the night, holding the Cougars to 51 total yards in the contest.
“Our defense did a great job since last week we didn’t do a good job on third down or coming up with critical stops,” said Rondorf. “Our coaches put the pressure on them to do that and the defense responded.”
The Indians scored their final touchdown of the game with ten minutes remaining when Whitfield found Wichtoski open on a slant pattern for a 12-yard passing touchdown, giving Kewaskum the winning margin of 35-0 over Campbellsport.
“It is always special to win this game because we know how much it means to our football program, students, and the community,” said Rondorf. “Our players responded from a tough loss last week, and we got off to a great start and didn’t let up.”
Campbellsport Football will host Lomira and Kewaskum will play at West Bend West, with both games on September 4 at 7 p.m.
