Kewaskum Wrestling Qualifies in Back-to-Back Years for Team Sectionals

Kewaskum hosted Division Two Wrestling Regionals for the girls on Friday night, Feb. 14, and for the boys the next day on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Girls
Moving on to Sectionals for the Lady Indians are Sybil Gadouas, who placed fourth in the 126 weight class, and Aria Coronado, who placed third in the 138 weight class, and they will compete at Dodgeland on Friday night, Feb. 21.
In the quarterfinals, Gadouas lost by technical fall, but won both the fourth and fifth place matches by decision and fall, respectively, for her fourth place finish.
Coronado fell in her semifinal match, but came back and won her third place match by fall.

Annie Chojnacki just missed a spot on the podium in the 120 weight class after losing by fall in the quarterfinals and later in the fifth place match.
Sectionals at Dodgeland begins at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Boys
The Indians won the Regional Tournament with 242 points earning them a back-to-back trip to Team Sectionals, which took place after print time at North Fond du Lac on Tuesday, Feb. 18. They also qualified nine individuals for Sectionals on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Waupun.
Individual Regional champions were Carter Heimerman (120), Ryland Dunkleberger (132), Ethan Immel (138), Brayden Loehr (144), Bryston Scoles (150), and Kage Weseman (157). Placing in the top four to also earn a trip to Sectionals were Xane Kleinke (second, 175), Brent Krejcarek (third, 126), and Eli Ogi (third, 190).
Heimerman and Dunkleberger pinned all three of their opponents of the day on their way to first place finishes. Immel won by tech fall in the quarterfinals, fall in the semifinals, and major decision in the first place match. Loehr won by fall in the quarterfinals, decision in the semifinals, and pinned his opponent in the first place match. Scoles won by fall in the quarterfinals and tech fall in the semifinals and first place match. Weseman won by fall in the quarterfinals, won the tiebreaker round in the semifinals, and won by decision for first place.
Krejcarek won by tech fall in the quarterfinals, lost by major decision in the semifinals, but won by fall in the third place match. Kleinke won by fall and lost by fall in the quarter and semifinals, respectively. He won by tech fall in the second place match and turned around to win by decision to secure the second place win. Ogi won by fall in three of his four rounds to secure the third place spot, but had a medical forfeit in the second place match.
Joining Kewaskum in North Fond du Lac will be Campbellsport, who placed second as a team with 217 points.
Saturday’s Sectional Tournament begins at 10 a.m. at Waupun.
