Kewaskum’s Explosive Offense Leads to a 38-7 Homecoming Win

On October 9, Kewaskum football won 38-7 at home over Nicolet in their homecoming game.

Nicolet (3-5, 2-4) scored first on a 19-yard touchdown pass to take an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter over Kewaskum (3-5, 2-4).

Landon Scheel (92 rushing yards) scored a three-yard rushing touchdown for the Indians to tie the game at seven with 5:27 left in the first quarter.

Kewaskum’s defense nearly got a big play on Nicolet’s next offensive possession when Jace Wichtoski nearly picked off a pass on third down, forcing a punt.

The Indians were facing a third down at their own 13-yard line when Quarterback El Ogi (82 rushing yards) took off out of the pocket and sprinted in front of the Nicolet sideline for a huge 55-yard run.

Kewaskum’s Blake Staral kicked a 26-yard field goal to give the Indians their first lead  in the second quarter.

Defensive back Anthony Coleman intercepted the Nicolet quarterback's floating pass, taking it out of the fall night sky at the Kewaskum 34-yard line.

Ogi connected with Wichtoskii on a 41-yard passing play to set up Kewaskum’s offense on their next drive.

Levi Whitfield scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown for the Indians with 0:42 left in the second quarter, making the score 17-7.

Kewaskum's passing offense produced another big play when Ogi (283 passing yards) hit Kamden Drege with a pass, and Drege ran downfield in front of the Kewaskum sideline for 54 yards.

Scheel capped the drive with his second touchdown of the game on a tough two-yard rushing touchdown, increasing Kewaskum’s lead to 24-7 at the 4:18 mark in the third quarter.

Nicolet’s offense tried to get back in the game, but the Indians defense stopped the Knights offense on fourth down at the Kewaskum seven-yard line.

Ogi found a wide-open Wichtoski (169 receiving yards) in front of the Kewaskum sideline with a deep pass, which Wichtoski gathered in to sprint down the field for an electrifying 93-yard touchdown, pushing the Indians' lead to 31-7 with 11:10 left in the game.

Coleman scored the final Kewaskum touchdown on an 18-yard rushing touchdown with 1:40 left in the fourth quarter, giving the Indians an impressive 38-7 homecoming win.
