FOND DU LAC COUNTY – Eden’s Caitlin Neitzel was selected as the 2026 Fond du Lac Fairest of the Fair.
Neitzel is the daughter of Brian and Danielle Neitzel, and Cailtin grew up on my family’s dairy farm, which later switched to cash cropping after a barn fire in 2017, just east of Eden, Wisconsin.

“My family has always supported my involvement in agriculture, FFA, and the Fond du Lac County Fair,” said Cailtin Neitzel. “Growing up on the family farm taught me the values of hard work, responsibility, and dedication.”
“Agriculture has been a major part of my life from a young age, “ said Neitzel. “I have been involved in the Fond du Lac County Fair for many years through showing dairy cattle.”
She was active in FFA throughout high school and served as Vice President during my junior and senior years at Campbellsport High School.
“I have completed internships with both Country Visions Cooperative and Corteva Agriscience, gaining experience in crop scouting, agronomic research, field trials, soil sampling, and crop production.”
Neitzel is currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville with an expected graduation date of December 2026 and is pursuing a degree in Crop and Soil Science with an emphasis in Agronomy.
“My coursework and experiences have focused on crop production, soil management, agronomy, agricultural research, and precision agriculture,” said Neitzel, “I also serve as an Ag Ambassador.”
As Cailtin prepares for graduation, she is actively searching for career opportunities within the agriculture industry where she can apply the knowledge and experiences she has gained through my coursework, internships, and involvement in agriculture.
“My goal is to work closely with farmers and the agricultural community to help improve crop production, promote sustainable practices, and utilize new technologies to advance the future of agriculture,” said Neitzel.
Caitlin’s roles and duties as the Fond du Lac Fairest of the Fair:
Serve as an ambassador for the Fond du Lac County Fair and the agricultural community.
Promote the county fair at local events, schools, businesses, and community gatherings.
Educate the public about agriculture and the importance of the fair.
Support youth exhibitors and encourage participation in fair activities.
Attend parades, festivals, civic events, and agricultural functions throughout the year.
Represent Fond du Lac County at the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs Convention and other state events.
Caitlin is incredibly honored and grateful to serve as the 2026 Fond du Lac County Fairest of the Fair.
“The fair has been an important part of my life, and I am excited to give back to an organization that has provided me with so many opportunities,” said Neitzel. “I look forward to meeting new people, promoting the fair, and sharing the story of agriculture with our community.”
Neitzel is proud to represent the exhibitors, volunteers, sponsors, and families who make the fair successful each year.
“I encourage everyone to join us at the Fond du Lac County Fair July 15–19, 2026, and experience everything our fair has to offer,” said Neitzel. “Be sure to visit the livestock barns, agricultural displays, exhibit buildings, vendors, and enjoy all of the delicious fair food throughout the week.”
“Whether you’re a longtime fairgoer or attending for the first time, there is something for everyone to enjoy, and I look forward to seeing you at the Fond du Lac County Fair this summer,” said Neitzel.
