Bill Otte is Campbellsport Middle & High School’s new Athletic Director and Assistant Principal for the upcoming 2026-27 school year.
Otte taught middle school Social Studies at Dodgeland High School in Juneau for 25 years and coached varsity boys basketball there for 17 years while also assisting with the varsity and junior varsity football programs.
Most recently, Otte served as the middle/high school principal for the School District of Spencer for the past two years.
Campbellsport’s school district reminded Otte a lot of the community where he grew up in Weyauwega.

“I appreciate the strong sense of community and the opportunity to work in a district that values its students,” said Otte. “The position’s proximity to my family was also an important factor, allowing me to be closer.”
“From everything I have seen so far, Campbellsport is a caring community and school district that truly wants the best for its students,” said Otte. “I am excited to become part of a district that is committed to helping the next generation succeed both academically and personally.”
Otte’s initial goal is to support our students, coaches, teachers, and families while providing student-athletes with opportunities to showcase their talents and grow through athletics and extracurricular activities.
Long-term, Otte hopes to build on the district’s strong traditions, strengthen relationships throughout the community, and help create an environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed and feel connected.
“I genuinely care about students and student-athletes and want to see each of them succeed,” said Otte. “I believe in being consistent, building positive relationships, and creating opportunities for students to challenge themselves, develop leadership skills, and experience new things.”
“One of the highlights of my teaching career was organizing and leading eighth-grade trips to Washington, D.C., for 20 years,” said Otte.’Those experiences provided students with meaningful learning opportunities outside the classroom and created memories that lasted a lifetime.”
“Students and parents can expect consistency, fairness, open communication, and someone who genuinely cares about helping every student reach their full potential,” said Otte.
Otte and his wife, Pam, have four grown children, and they have been blessed with four grandchildren ranging in age from 8 months to 3 years old.
“I believe students should be encouraged to explore a wide variety of opportunities during their school years,” said Otte. “Academics, the arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities all play important roles in helping students discover their interests, develop valuable life skills, build relationships, and prepare for success beyond high school.”
“As an assistant principal, my role is to help create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed,” said Otte. “As athletic director, my responsibility is to provide meaningful experiences and opportunities through athletics and extracurricular activities while supporting coaches and helping student-athletes develop both on and off the field.”
