Snow Sports Try-it Day

Posted

Here’s a great way to break your winter cabin fever and try a new snow sport such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or fat-tire biking. The Snow Sports Try-it Day has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Northern Unit’s Greenbush Recreation Area Group Camp located at N5854 Kettle Moraine Drive, Glenbeulah, which is between Hwy 67 and County Road T near Greenbush. A valid Wisconsin State Parks System vehicle admission sticker is required for parking. If you need a sticker (a new yearly or a daily), you can purchase one from the following website: https://shop.wi.gov/dnrparkspasses.
The day will include display booths and demonstrations for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking by these sports’ enthusiasts along with leader-led trail try-it experiences. Folks are encouraged to bring their favorite sleds for speeding down the Greenbush sledding hill. A roaring campfire will blaze all day in the new campfire ring near the shelter. Inside the heated shelter, participants can purchase steaming bowls of soups, tasty ham and cheese sandwiches, sweet dessert bars, and hot drinks. Remember to bring your cash.
This event is sponsored by Attitude Sports, Friends of the Kettle Moraine, Northern Kettle Moraine Nordic Ski Club, and Sheboygan County Cycling. They are looking forward to sharing their love of winter and in particular their favorite snow sports.
