U14 Rebels Go Undefeated

Posted

On Saturday, June 7, the KYSO Girls U14 Rebels team ended their season as the 2025 U14 Girls Richfield Tournament Champions! Additionally, this past fall, they were the 2024 U14 Girls Erin Tournament Champions! As impressive as those Championships are, more impressive was that they were able to accomplish an undefeated season over the course of the Fall and Spring seasons with a combined record of 20-0-1.
The girls have shown time and again that they have a formidable offense as well as a rock-solid defense. They have outscored their opponents 129 goals scored to 12 goals allowed over 21 games played. Twelve of those games have been shut-out wins.
As intimidating as their record is, it is the teamwork and camaraderie that have really set this group apart. Their ability to involve everyone on the field has been inspiring and a joy to watch. Every teammate knows their assignment, and the passes have been spot-on all season. They have shown poise and expertise during corner kicks and set pieces, which have resulted in several exciting goals.
On the defensive side of the field, every defender has taken it personally to ensure the ball remains out of our goal. From exhilarating saves by the goalkeepers to amazing presence of mind by the defenders, each game was more exciting than the last. Their ability to cheer each other on and support each other after errors has been one of the best examples of Kewaskum Soccer pride.
The team consists of eighth graders: Cailyn Beres, Sierrah Bonlender, Monroe Edwards, Evelyn Jungers, Madeline Kester, Emma Madel, Erin Michlig, Isabelle Piwoni, and Anaston Schmidt, and seventh graders: Gracelyn Beimborn, Claire Broughton, Evalyn Dourn, Stella Gurrola, Kylee Holland, Charlotte Lange, and Grace Thill. The Rebels team has been coached by Rebecca Dourn and Ashley VonAsten, who have helped guide these girls into the wonderful athletes that they have become.
As the season comes to a close, the parents, family and friends cannot wait to see these young ladies in action at the high school level! Congratulations Rebels!
