The young Cougar girls’ bowling team notched their third win in their third match of the season. This week, the match was taking place at King Pin Bowl in West Bend against the Cougars’ toughest rival in the last five years. The only team to beat the Cougars in the conference the last five years has been Kewaskum. In the last five years, the Cougars and the Indians are 4-4 facing each other. The Cougars have taken a lead, 5-4, at least, for now. The Indians have a good contingent of seniors and juniors.
In the match, the Indians took the lead 1-0 after the first game, but the Cougars came roaring back with a 151 and 161 in games two and three to take the lead 2-1. In game four, the Indians blasted a 194 game to tie the match. The Cougars shot a 150 and 159 game in games five and six to take the lead 4-2. The Cougars struggled in game seven, and the match was now 4-3. The Cougars decided to ramp it up in the eighth and ninth
with a 164 and a 149 and took the last two games and the match 6-3. The Cougars averaged 145 on the night, while the Indians averaged 135.
“It was a good team effort from both the juniors and freshmen,” said Coach Serwe. Abby Jarmuz and Kendall Boegel led the team, going 12 of 16 and 10 of 14, respectively. Genna Grahl went 9 of 16 and freshman Viola Schrauth 7 of 14.
