Congratulations to Ava Smith, Kaitlyn Vant Hoff, Samuel Ellenbecker, and Lillyanna Groll for being selected as Campbellsport High School “Students of the Month” in February.
Ava Smith
“I am nominating Ava Smith for the Math Student of the Month for February. Ava always comes to class prepared and with a smile on her face. She is consistently on top of her work and turns everything in on time. Whenever she has a question, she is ready to ask without hesitation, and she is willing to persevere through her struggles to succeed. One of Ava’s greatest qualities is her willingness to help classmates. Whether a classmate is gone a day or asks for clarification, she is by their side helping them through the problem.” Submitted by Mrs. Young
Kaitlyn Vant Hoff
“The High School Social Studies Department is proud to nominate Kaitlyn Vant Hoff as our Student of the Month for February. In truth, she has stood out from the first day of the school year as a student who exemplifies the qualities of lifelong learning and success. Kaitlyn challenges herself to take classes that force her to grow academically and maximize her many talents. But she isn’t only a student. She is deeply involved in and committed to a number of organizations, such as Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Student Council, National Honor Society (NHS), Forensics and Book Club, juggling all of these things and more with seeming ease. Having a busy schedule, challenging herself, getting involved, and working are not uncommon to many of our upperclassmen. But what IS uncommon in my 33 years of teaching is the rare student who puts everything else aside when she arrives in her classes and is 100% present in the moment. She isn’t working on other assignments. She doesn’t put her head down in exhaustion even if she’d love nothing more than to check out momentarily. She doesn’t miss school to get caught up because, as a master of organization, she doesn’t fall behind. So she CONSISTENTLY comes to class to learn with a laser-like focus on understanding, asking, participating, growing, and thinking. It’s a commitment she lives out EVERY DAY, and I can’t think of someone who better personifies student engagement. Congratulations, and THANK YOU, Kaitlyn!” Submitted by Mr. Ellenbecker
