Cougars Get Dominant First Round Win at Home

On March 3, the Campbellsport boys’ basketball team had a dominant 75-43 home win over NFDL in the first round of the WIAA Division 3 Tournament. Campbellsport (8-18) held a 9-5 lead over NFDL (6-19) when Carter Gellings knocked down a three-pointer in the corner for the Cougars. Cullen Reis got a steal on the defensive end of the court and showed more hustle by diving on the floor to secure the loose ball to secure possession for Cambpellsport, then Noah Bobb scored to give the Cougars a 16-9 lead at the ten-minute mark of the first half.

WIAA Girls Basketball Tournament 50th Anniversary

WIAA is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Girls Basketball Tournament, which will end in the Resch Center in Green Bay on March 12-14. On Feb 24, Campbellsport girls basketball lost 78-43 to five-seed Sheboygan Falls on the road in the first round of the WIAA Girls Division Three Tournament. Campbellsport (2-23) Brittany Reilly’s offensive rebound putback and a Sydney Brandt basket made the score 13-6 in favor of Sheboygan Falls (16-9).

Cougars Get Dominating Win Against West Bend West

On Feb. 3, Campbellsport girls’ basketball beat West Bend West 65-30 in a dominating non-conference win for the Cougars. Campbellsport (2-17) jumped out to an early 10-2 lead over West Bend West (1-16), highlighted by four points from Brittany Reilly. The Cougars’ lead was 18-9 thanks to a steal converted into a layup from freshman guard Taylor Schladweiler and six points from their junior post player Kiera Laverenz.

On Feb. 6, Campbellsport boys’ basketball lost 54-42 to Laconia on the road in a competitive and physical Flyway conference basketball game. Campbellsport (6-12, 3-6) held a 7-5 lead over Laconia (9-9, 5-4) thanks to a three-pointer from Trent Schladweiler and a basket in the lane from Noah Bobb.

Cougars Win First Girls Flyway Conference Championship

On Feb. 7, Campbellsport girls’ wrestling won the first-ever girls flyway conference championship with 155 points. The Cougars had six individual champions on the girls’ team, with Irelyn Woolhether, Bella Pickering, Emerson Wissink, Savannah Ksioszk, Abigail Ksioszk, and Mya Schraufnagel winning their individual weight classes for a very productive day for the Campbellsport team.
